It is almost odorless unless heated. Only when heated does it have the pleasant smell of resin. However, it should not be inhaled directly.
Rosin is one of the best fluxes for the electronics engineer and makes soldering a breeze. Especially for soldering beginners.
It is also used in other areas such as the care and use of stringed instruments.

Our jars come with both clear and closed lids. A selection is not possible.
And this is how you use your rosin for soldering:
During soldering, the solder joint must be protected from oxygen in the air. This is done with rosin, which forms a protective coating over the area to be soldered.
In addition, it leads to a smooth surface of the solidifying solder. Residues of rosin can remain on the soldering point because, unlike soldering fluid or soldering grease, rosin does not cause corrosion. Accordingly, it is a protective layer and prevents electrolytic and oxygen-based corrosion.
Take eg. a small piece and melt it directly onto the contacts, solder pads or component leads.
Cable ends or cable strands that you want to tin can be held directly in the can with rosin and melted there.
Making liquid rosin: • Scrape off some rosin, the finer the better. • Mix it with 2 parts isopropanol to 1 part rosin. Say: 2ml isopropanol 1g rosin • Mixing takes some time. Therefore, shake the mixture regularly. Repeat this process for a few days. • If you change the mixing ratio, you can also make pastes.
