Every refurbished tool is revitalised not just by cleaning them but by rectifying the wear and reducing the need to do anything other than add your personal preferences similar to when buying new. Our techniques have a proven track record that meet the demands of the professional craftsman and best practices are carried out when sharpening to ensure the tempering isn't affected. Any repairs to tools are always mentioned in the main description but if undertaken you can be assured these will have been carried out with emphasis of restoring the original strength to that part, having said that NO tool that has been welded will ever be sold by us, we simply dismantle them and use the good parts taking that tool out of circulation. Good refurbishment is important with used vintage tools to ensure not only to enhance performance but also to ensure no tool sold for use has any hidden defects. There is more involved that first meets the eye but refurbishment when carried out properly takes time to achieve, it also requires an understanding of how tools work and are maintained.
I've used tools all my working life, they are important to me as they enable me to make, create and mend. Your tools are important too, and the better they perform the easier and better they work has a direct impact on the things you want to do with them. We undertake the tedious and important tasks many won't recognise but to those who do, our aim is to do it with competence so that the old tools we sell excel over those that haven't had the same treatment.
We are a second and third generation family business with spades of experience, we operate full time from our large workshop buying, refurbishing and selling Vintage & Antique tools. This business never fails to educate and rarely do we say we know it all but there are many things we discover that keeps things interesting.
We have a real passion for old tools mainly because they were made by toolmakers who took pride in their craft, where demands for quality and performance were paramount with so many craftsmen reliant on their hand tools.

We use Hermes to send to all UK destinations
We go through eBay's Global Shipping programme for all overseas items. eBay charges for these shipping costs direct to the customer. We just send to their UK shipping center and eBay does the rest.
Postage/Delivery time:
As you can appreciate there is a lot of work needed to bring these tools back to life as a result I do get quite dirty when working in the workshop. I do have to allocate a whole day to postage as a different operation because of this so I pack all orders every Monday & Thursday, we then order the collection from Hermes which generally takes 1-2 days to collect. So depending on what day you order it will vary the delivery time. please allow 5 – 10 days for delivery for the UK.
We sell collectables and old usable tools that are refurbished to a high standard before being offered for sale. Used tools are not perfect and may have minor flaws due to wear and tear. Any major defects will be pointed out in the description. All items are sold in an “as is” condition and have not been tested; however reconditioning has been undertaken using the best practices available to ensure the product is in good working order ready to use.
Whilst best reasonable efforts are made to ensure usable items are brought to a good standard, those expecting perfection from a used tools should consider buying new. Items described as ‘Antique’ or ‘Collectable’ are not sold for the purpose of use unless it state this in the description above, if the buyer decides to use an antique tool we which does not state 'ready for use' we regard the item as sold if buyer tests them for use, it is the buyers responsibility for any additional costs to upgrade them for use.
