This neat looking clock was made by the Seth Thomas Clock Co. in Thomaston, Conn., USA in the late 1890's.

The original signed Seth Thomas movement has been serviced and is in good running and gonging order.

The original black finish was stripped off at one point in time, revealing the beautiful natural wood grain. It appears to have been refinished some time ago, so now there are various signs of wear from handling. It measures 17 ¼" wide x 11 ¼" high x 7 ¼" deep.

The brass bezel and dial assembly is in nice condition. The brass is naturally age tarnished and the original paper dial is aged, shaded and worn, but is still very nice looking.

As stated, this clock runs well, keeps time and gongs properly. It counts each hour on a mellow sounding antique cathedral gong, i.e. 1 gong at 1:00, 2 gongs at 2:00, etc., and announces each half hour with a single toll. It comes complete with a key that fits and the original pendulum.

As far as great old clocks go, it would be hard to find one that looks any sharper up on the mantle. With its attractive ornamental columns, paw feet and lions' heads set against a wood grain background, it is guaranteed to be a great conversation piece.
