BLANK CARD featuring the painting
HALIFAX - Handley Page Halifax by Bill Perring
Overshadowed by the Avro Lancaster, Handley Page’s Halifax entered service before the Lancaster and undertook many other roles than that of merely a bomber.
Originally built with Rolls Royce Merlin in-line engines, the Halifax achieved its potential in its Mk.III and Mk.VI guises when it was equipped with Bristol Hercules engines. By this time the front of the fuselage had also been re-designed to make for a better fighting environment.
The aircraft in the painting is a Mk.III, distinguished from the Mk.VI by squared off wing-tips.
Bill Perring’s super card would be ideal for anyone with an interest in Bomber Command.
THE CARD IS 7" x 5" (178mm x 127mm)
