These gorgeous silver proof coins are the first-ever bullion coin minted on behalf of the British Virgin Islands. These stunning Silver Pegasus coins feature a reverse proof finish with a design featuring the highly-recognizable Greek winged horse, Pegasus. Each sheet contains 20 x one ounce coins in .999 pure silver (20 ounces total). The coins are legal tender silver dollars authorized by the British Virgin Islands and minted by the British Pobjoy Mint. The Silver Pegasus mintage is limited to only 50,000 coins which is almost nothing compared to the typical American silver eagle annual mintage of 30-40 million coins. One side of the coin depicts an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the other side features the magnificent winged horse, Pegasus, and the goddess Athena against a frosted-finish background. Athena is seen holding a spear in her left hand and the reigns of the golden bridle used to tame Pegasus in her right hand. Mint sealed sheets are preferred for long term investors and each sheet may contain multiple perfect 70 grade coins.
