The shoe’s upper is a hybrid combination of suede and breathable, stretchable Air Mesh. While the shoe is not waterproof, the mesh construction allows excellent ventilation that allows the Men’s Speed Ascent to dry quickly if it should become wet. An overlapping tongue helps to keep dust, dirt, and debris out of the shoe. Protective, sticky rubber toe and heel rands offer excellent protection on rough and rocky terrain and also help to improve traction for ascents or descents.
An anatomical fit works with the asymmetry of the human foot and results in less movement in the heel of the shoe, less rubbing, and less potential for blisters. An integrated overlay provides full ankle support while still offering complete freedom of movement.
Two stacked rows of tie off points let you choose how best to affix the quick-lacing system to optimize both fit and comfort. The Vibram Rolling Gait System (RGS) rubber outsole delivers excellent grip and traction. Its rockered design puts your toes in just the right position for quickly pushing off and moving forward.
