Here’s a unique Model D8....direct drive and manual operation. I mounted a brand new Ortofon Red cartridge...the sound produced is excellent...clean and solid. Speeds hold nicely...cueing is good....I added real wood veneer followed by several applications of satin poly. The veneer came out good—not perfect—there are a few defects on the seams(left upper edge) and the corners aren’t perfect. The cover is very good—it does have some scratches and surface swirling...but no cracks. Hinges are good..all four feet are original and very good. The original wire that enables the anti-skate weight was missing so I added some nylon line—which works fine. There is a small crack in the housing of the speed selectors(pic). This is the heaviest machine I’ve personally worked on so shipping will be substantial. This is a heavy hitter Turntable...with a quality cartridge....ready to rock.
