1. I try to keep shipping costs down, as best I can, while still packing in a manner that I feel will deliver your purchase to you undamaged. Your purchase will be PACKED WITH CARE, by someone who has been packing and shipping delicate items for over 45 years. And, your shipment will be FULLY INSURED, AT NO EXTRA COST TO YOU!
2. I've been around for a while--a LONG while--and I have dived into my last dumpster looking for shipping cartons! So, I purchase brand new, 200# test, shipping cartons and I use anti-static, biodegradable, environmentally friendly, loose fill packing material--MOST OF THE TIME. I say "most of the time," because I will, on some occasions, ship in previously used cartons and I may reuse other types of packing materials, which best suit the item(s) being shipped. I sometimes use Priority Mail shipping cartons as well. At any rate, I do SLIGHTLY "PAD" the shipping charges on each shipment, to cover my purchase of cartons, loose fill, tissue paper, packing paper, printing paper, bubble wrap, packing tape, rubber bands, plastic bags, shipping labels,"FRAGILE" labels, printing cartridges, etc. From what I see others doing, I feel the way I do this, it is really reasonable to ensure that your purchase arrives safe and sound. I DO NOT MAKE MONEY ON SHIPPING or SHIPPING SUPPLIES!
3. I use the "Shipping Calculator" to determine the fairest and most accurate shipping cost. Shipping charges to AK or HI may be higher, please ask. I try to offer buyers at least two shipping choices--MOST OF THE TIME, usually USPS Priority Mail and USPS Parcel Select. I try to stay with USPS, but if an item sells for a very high price, I reserve the right to ship via UPS or FedEx instead, just for insurance purposes. On most of what I feel are the more expensive items I offer, I will INSIST on Priority Mail, ONLY. Lastly, I may make the decision to upgrade your shipping service. For example, you may have selected and paid for "Parcel Select" shipping, but I may decide to ship it via "Priority" instead. If I do this, you will NOT be charged any additional fee. I will never downgrade the shipping method you have chosen. ALL shipments valued over $100.00-and some under-will be sent with "Signature Confirmation Required," NO EXCEPTIONS! I'm sorry if this poses an inconvenience for you, but there are way too many parcels "disappearing" from doorsteps these days, so better safe than sorry. WHEN I OFFER FREE SHIPPING, THE CHOICE OF CARRIER IS MY CHOICE OF USPS, FedEx or UPS.
4. I will happily combine shipping, WHEN I CAN, on multiple purchases, but please keep in mind that I need to adhere to eBay rules of shipping within 24 hours of your payment. So, if you intend on bidding on multiple items of mine, WITHIN 7 DAYS, please inform me and DO NOT PAY ME until I have sent you an invoice for all the items. Should you decide not to wait for a combined shipping invoice, please note that I will not refund any overpaid shipping, I will just assume that you are so thrilled with the overall deal, that saving a couple of bucks on shipping isn't important to you.
5. I ship to all countries served by the eBay Global Shipping Program. That said, eBay has been going back and forth, either accepting model trains one day or not accepting them another day, so please keep that in mind as you bid, if you are outside the USA. If eBay refuses to ship this item internationally, I WILL NOT ship it internationally myself and we will have to cancel the sale.
6. If I ship to a California address, I MUST charge 8% CA sales tax. If you are buying for resale and you have a California Resale Permit, I will be happy to accept it, BUT, you MUST fill out a California Resale Certificate (available on the State Board of Equalization website), fill it out legibly, sign it, scan it and email it to me BEFORE I can ship your purchase. This is California law!
