Some information about installing our valve cover spacers.
I usually recommend a gasket between the head & spacer.
IF you are using a cast aluminum valve cover & it is good, flat & straight in the gasket surface then just use Silicone (form-a-gasket) between the spacer &valve cover.
IF you are using a tin valve cover (once again MUST be flat) I recommend a gasket between spacer & valve cover also.
MOST IMPORANT everything MUST be clean & MUST use a good quality gasket.
IF you are using a aftermarket aluminum head with a good machined valve cover surface many people (including myself ) just silicone the spacer to the head .
The BEST silicone I have found is Ford Motorcraft RTV for use on 7.3 Power Stroke Diesel Engines! Motorcraft Part number (TA31).
Buy it at the Ford Dealer & it is about $25 a tube, but worth it.
We also enclose a information sheet with each set of spacers sold.
