This handmade TABLECLOTH is a silk art tapestry known as Termeh which can be used as a table cover, table runner, table mat set, wedding decorations, and hanging on the wall and furniture for decoration.
Termeh is one of the most conspicuous elements in oriental handicrafts. It was created millenniums ago and still being produced around the world.
The fabric used in this Termeh is made of high-quality artificial silk(viscose) and includes polyester threads (black, gold or silver color) that reflect a special shine. Its value comes from the number of colors used in the weaving process and the number of layers of the fabric. The Fabric is also stiff and weighty ensuring a beautiful drop on any table.
Although modern technology has been used in production, but the part of the weaving process is done by hand still and the whole process and the machinery are supervised by masters and artists to ensure the quality of this fine art.

How Termeh is made:

Termeh is a form of textile art, traditionally woven on a vertical loom.Tapestry is weft-faced weaving, in which all the warp threads are hidden in thecompleted work, unlike cloth weaving where both the warp and the weft threadsmay be visible. In Termeh Tapestry weaving, weft yarns are typicallydiscontinuous, the artisan interlaces each colored weft back and forth in itsown small pattern area. It is a plain weft-faced weave having weft threads ofdifferent colors worked over portions of the warp to form the design.
This special type of handmade Tapestry is called Termeh. Weaving Termehrequires good wool with tall fibers. Termeh is woven by waving machine. Thentailor cuts the Termeh and satin according to common standard sizes, then line thefabric with satin and add golden strips to the edges and sews all around thefabric.
