Wahl metal pen in sterling silver, 1920s. This is a hard-to-find solid sterling silver pen in a hard-to-find large size with a big No. 4 nib. Note the proportions and how big the nib is compared with the rest of the pen. The pattern is fine vertical lines

The Wahl 4 nib is fine and flexible, making a wide downstroke of about 1.8mm. This is over BBBB by modern standards. Excellent for pointed-pen calligraphy styles like copperplate or spencerian, but good for everyday use too. See the writing samples.

Condition remarkably good. Charming engraved name in barrel.

Lever filler, restored and working with a new sac installed. Length is about 4 5/8 inches.

ITEM 3431

The writing samples were made with the pen itself, dipped in Waterman Intense Black ink. The paper is a Rhodia pad with 5mm squares.
