What this means to you is that you'll get usable video images even in areas that appear quite dark to you.
User Selectable Shutter Speeds..........
Selectable shutter speeds is another tool you can use to increase the camera's sensitivity to light. Other brightness enhancing tools include an advanced AGC feature and auto iris controls.
2-Mode Backlight Compensation Metering System.......
Backlit situations can be corrected using either a multi-spot or a center-zone metering system. In multi-spot mode, the camera samples brightness levels in 64 separate areas of the image. Moreover, it does this even when there are moving people or objects present in the image. In center-mode the process is more simple. Here the camera measures luminance in the center of the image while applying automatic lens aperture adjustments. Center-mode is therefore best suited for indoor applications where backlit situations are typically less complicated.
