Please note: This is a quality, cleaned and restored copy of the pattern for you to knit the item/s yourself. It is Not for the original pattern or the finished article/s.

Knitting pattern/instructions to make a doll and all her clothes (Coat, hat, dress, shoes, vest and knickers).  The pattern is from the late 1930s/ early 1940s, when toys were expensive and not ready available as they are now, so many were hand made.  If knitted in 3ply or equivalent wool, she will be approximately 20 1/2 inches tall when finished.

  • Materials required: The original pattern was knitted in 3ply.  Modern 4ply yarn is of a similar weight and could be used, though you should make a tension square first to ensure the finished size is what you want.
  • For the doll: 2 ounces (approx 57 grams) in pink.  Small ball of brown or other coloured wool for her hair.  Small amounts of red, black and blue yarn for details.
    • Pair No. 10 (3.25 mm) knitting needles.
    • Child safe stuffing.
  • For her clothes: Approx  2 ounces (approx 57 grams) each for her coat & hood, and her dress & shoes.  1 ounce (28.3 grams) for the vest and knickers.
    • No. 9 (3.75 mm) knitting needles.
    • Buttons.
    • Small crochet hook to make the cords.

Due to the age of the pattern, the original yarn suggested may not be available.  It is recommended to crochet/knit a tension square with your chosen yarn, before starting, to ensure the finished garment or item is the size you require.
