Knitting pattern, instructions to make classic 1940s jumper with fancy ribbed design. 


  • Size: 34 - 36 inch bust. Using DK yarn and larger needles will enable you to knit a larger size if you want to.
  • Materials required: 4 ply yarn.
    • Approximately  10 - 11 ounces (284 - 312 grams). Amounts will vary depending on size knitted and the make of yarn used.
    • Pair each No. 12 (2.75mm), No. 10 (3.00mm)  knitting needles. Cable needle or spare double pointed needle.
    • 4 small buttons.
  • Tension: 8 sts and 10 rows to an inch using No. 10 (3.00mm) needles.

The pattern is printed in A4 format on heavy weight paper with colour photos and charts where applicable.  It will be posted in a plastic sleeve and board backed C4 envelope to protect it. 

Due to the age of the pattern, the original yarn suggested may not be available.  It is recommended to knit a tension square with your chosen yarn, before starting, to ensure the finished garment or item is the size you require.
