Carl Barks Sculptor & Model 1934 Memorabilia Disney (Dominik Maltmus, 1995)

An oversized, limited run piece. Long before his identification with Disney's Donald Duck franchise, Barks contributed risqué gags to Calgary Eye Opener magazine. This splendid example graced a 1934 issue. This serigraph is #235 of a limited edition of 299. Also included are an international COA and a 1931 issue of Calgary Eye Opener, containing other Barks drawings. Image area, 12" x 18", framed to 18.25" x 24". Excellent condition. 

Animator Carl Barks (1901-2000) is best known for his work at the Disney Studios where he worked for 24 years (1942-1966), creating some 6,371 pages of cartoons in 450 comic books featuring Donald Duck (introduced in 1934) and the characters that Barks created such as Uncle Scrooge McDuck.
