Care of Woolen Blankets

Blankets like ours that can be washed in a washing machine, need some special care.
Please read these directions.

Washing;
Place Blanket in washing machine and use a very mild detergent or Woollite which is specially formulated for wool. We also recommend you add 1/2 cup white vinegar to the wash cycle. Do not use bleach. If you have a front loading washer, place the vinegar in the detergent receptacle. Start the machine. If you have a top-load washer, allow the water to fill the machine before you add the detergent and vinegar. Vinegar will reduce the amount of lint that releases from your blanket.

 Wash the blankets on gentle cycle and low water temp.

Drying:
Some wool products say that they can be dried in a dryer on the low heat cycle, we do not recommend this for several reasons. One is that every dryer is different and a low heat on one setting varies from machine to machine. Second reason is that the tumbling the blanket in a drier will cause what is known as pilling. Pilling is when the lint that comes from the fibers on the blanket rolls up into little bunches, these are very difficult to remove from wool. So for those reasons we recommend that you air dry all wool blankets for the maximum life and comfort of your wool blanket
