DESCRIPTION

A limited edition work, of which four-hundred were printed on small paper, and one-hundred were printed on large paper. This copy is a large paper copy and is numbered eighty-three.

This work is a collective list of all the portraits found in important houses in West Suffolk, with detailed descriptions and dates to each portrait.

Some of the houses mentioned in the work are Ampton Hall, Downham Hall, Hardwick House, Ixworth Abbey, Mildenhall, Nowton Court, and more.

Written by Edmund Farrer. Farrer was from the Hinderclay Rectory in Suffolk. He also published 'Church Heraldry of Norfolk', and 'The Monumental Brasses of Norfolk and Suffolk'.

Illustrated with seventy-two plates.

With a list of the subscribers to the front.

Collated, complete.


CONDITION

In a half cloth binding with paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart. Light discolouration to the boards and spine. Some spots to the spine. A little rubbing to the front board. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd spot to the endpapers.
