DESCRIPTION

A ten-book poem in blank verse, The Course of Time is the Scottish poet's most famous work, gaining popularity in both Britain and America by the printing of its fourth edition.


CONDITION

In half-calf binding with gilt detailing and paper-covered boards. Externally quite smart, there is wear to the extremities, joints, boards and backstrip. Internally, the pages are firmly bound but are spotted and foxed in many areas throughout, particularly to endpages, which also have some offsetting from a bookplate adhered to pastedown.
