Very Rare Royal Doulton Kingsware Jug - Duke Of York

Depicting the Duke Of York, this rare jug is superbly decorated in wonderful Kingsware hues of green, brown and yellow

Each side of the jug bears a depiction of the Duke on horseback, in relief, sword in hand with the motto "The Brave Old Duke Of York" around the base

Issued: 1940 only

The Kingsware Duke Of York Jug was introduced in 1940 only and discontinued shortly after following the governments wartime veto on decorating ceramics. It was thus produced in very small numbers making it very rare 

Height: 7 1/4 inches (18.4 cm) approx.

Excellent Condition Assured - No chips, cracks, scratches, restoration or any other kind of damage. There is some very, very fine, clean, age related crazing evident, barely noticeable. Does not detract in any way and mentioned for complete accuracy
