I can find no evidence these were ever released. These are in nondescript boxes which are generic. As you can see the UPC on both are identical. The box in great condition. The box sort of hold together by themselves so they never had any tape on these factory samples.

This item came from the collection of a former toy designer who work for several companies in the toy industry including Tonka. One of his jobs was reviewing items for quality assurance purposes.
