During pregnancy, the ligaments, under hormonal influences, become lax and stretch to allow the pelvis to spread for delivery. It is important to hold the sacroiliac and pubic joints firmly together after delivery in order to assist the ligaments in shortening and realigning the pelvis properly. Research has shown that after childbirth most women noted a positive effect using a sacroiliac belt. Because all pelvic joints loosen during pregnancy, use of a sacroiliac belt most likely will prevent associated pain during and after pregnancy. Using this belt helps stretched ligaments heal faster and also helps re-align and narrow the pelvis after delivery.

How to wear the Belt:
Wear the Sacroiliac Belt just above the leg bones that protrude from the sides of your hips, and just below hip bones (shown in the images below). Close the belt tightly around your hips. Pull the two elastic bands around toward the front. To ensure the best fit, always put the belt on in this manner. Do not over tighten. Over-tightening can result in increased pressure, and pain. Properly used the belt should stabilize the joint while still allowing 'normal' motion.
