AN EPITOME OF THE AMERICAN ECLECTIC PRACTICE OF MEDICINE

by William Paine, M.D.

EMBRACING PATHOLOGY, SYMPTOMATOLOGY, DIAGNOSIS, PROGNOSIS AND TREATMENT

Published by H. Cowperthwait & Co. in 1857  First Edition

This is a fascinating early medical reference book written before the Civil War.  The book is in good condition;  the spine is tight and the covers show shelf wear including minor fading, soiling, scuffing, and/or bumping.  The pages are yellowed and/or faded with age but are easily readable;  there is some foxing of the end papers and blank pages as well as occasionally in the book.  There is writing in pencil on a blank page at the rear of the book that appears to be a "cure" for small pox.  There is no dust jacket.

This is a wonderful old medical book and it would be an excellent addition to any library.

The book is about 5-1/4" x 8" x 1-1/4", 418 pages plus advertisements, and about 1-2 lbs.+/-  with packaging.
