Meccano Vintage Outfit Lid Transfer/Decal Replacement Stickers/Labels.Reproductions.
Sheet of self-adhesive replacement Meccano outfit labels for sets 8, 9 and 10, together with a generic outfit label.
Please
note: These are NOT transfers (which is what Meccano used in the past),
but transparent stickers. Due to the fact that I cannot print white as a
base colour, the colour of these stickers will not be as deep as the
colours of any original Meccano ones. Please bear this in mind,
especially when using them to stick onto darker surfaces - they show up
better on lighter surfaces.
You
will have to carefully cut around each sticker and stick it down. There
are two labels of each on this sheet. Please note that the sheet may be
cut down the middle (approx A5) for shipping purposes. This will not
affect the number of labels sent - they will just be on two sheets,
rather than one.
They look better if you cut around as much as you can. If for example, you just cut them as a rectangle, the edges are more likely to show up, especially on lighter backgrounds; curves look better. Best to use a scalpel, rather than a craft knife. For the second picture shown here, I used a craft knife (and not a very sharp one either).
They
are printed onto a substrate that holds the ink fast. However, they
would benefit from a protective coating of ink-jet fixative once
in-situ. Please also bear in mind that they will probably fade in
prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
