19th C SWAN NECK GAS LAMP / WALL LIGHT CONVERTED TO ELECTRIC, OPALESCENT SHADE

SUPERB VICTORIAN BRASS DECORATIVE SWAN NECK GAS LAMP CONVERTED TO ELECTRIC. 

This elegant solid brass wall light has been converted to electric from a 19th century gas lamp.

The brass swan neck design lamp still retains its original gas lamp fittings and has a brass wall mounted round decorative back plate, this measures approximately 9cm in diameter. This wall light is further enhanced with the original Art Nouveau pierced decoration to the bracket.

 The elegant style is complemented by the opalescent swirled glass shade.

The shade is in overall good condition free from cracks and hairlines. The shade has a diameter at its widest point of 18.8cm.

The overall depth from the back plate to the furthest point of the shade is approximately 45.5cm. The height from the top of the swan neck to the base of the shade is approximately 20cm.

The lamp has a bulb holder and has been wired for electric.

Condition overall is very good a few marks to the brass commensurate with age and use.

This lamp can be wall mounted either with the shade facing upwards or downwards.
