These are VOLVO Automatic Transmission and Geartronic shift knob button repair kit in color Black.

The kit has a NEW button cap with a used base. It is ready and easy to install.

They are for the 3-pin style shift knob and will also work in the 1-pin style knobs because our units are completed with the base which is the same as the 1-pin units. This repair kit will work in both styles. We have tested and confirm the compatibility.

As shown in the photo comparing the inside of both styles, the 1-pin style has an extra opening because the pin travels deeper into the knob which requires more force. However, the 3-pin style has 3 anchor points which reduce the stress on the button and makes it more durable than the 1-pin style. 

The shift knob has to be removed from the shifter assembly in order to do the repair. After the repair kit is installed, be sure to connect the rod into the knob BEFORE installing back into the shifter. 

Installation instruction for the button and rod (as shown in the photo) will be included.

There are many videos online showing the removal & installation process for the shift knob which is very simple and straight forward.
