A handy little kit for sorting out those annoying air bubbles and lifting edges in your wallpaper, without having to fiddle about trying to force paste under edges, cutting crosses in the paper and re-pasting, and otherwise risking stretching and tearing of the paper. This allows you to inject paste under edges or through small incisions* with ease. 

The kit comprises:

  • 35mm long dispensing tube, approx 1mm diameter, with a large enough bore to handle viscous fluids such as paste and a ground tip to make it easier to slide under the paper
    •
  • 10ml syringe containing ready mixed quality Solvite paste, and having a twist lock** to prevent the dispensing tube being forced off under pressure and a twist cap to keep the paste fresh ready for use whenever you next need it. You can refill the syringe yourself when empty if you wish.
  • A second syringe for purging the dispensing tube with clean water after use
  • Unblocking wire for the dispensing tube (this shouldn't be needed if the paste you use to refill is mixed properly without lumps!)

  • Re-sealable storage bag so you don't loose any of the parts
* If dealing with bubbles in the middle of a piece of wallpaper, you will ALSO need a craft knife or razor blade to make a small incision to allow the dispensing tube to pass through the paper.  Don't be tempted to ignore my supplied instructions and try and force the dispensing tube through the paper, as at best, it will leave a more visible mark, or at worse, damage the paper. Also note that this kit is for fixing problems with bubbles in wallpaper - not for any other application.  

** There are two main types of syringe fixing. "Luer-slip" where the tube is simply pushed onto a taper, but this fixing is not recommended where there might be back pressure when used due to the viscosity of the fluid. Bubblerepair uses "Luer-Lok" syringes which require a push and twist action which provides a fully secure fixing.

BACKGROUND

I am a volunteer engineer for Remap, custom building equipment for people with disabilities.  I buy in bulk and put these little kits together myself from brand new high quality (mainly Becton Dickinson manufacture) sealed/sterile components supplied by a medical wholesaler. Several thousand kits have now been sold since 2011.
