Enclosed Stereo VU meters with automatic audio input detection back light control. Our VU meters are unique on Ebay! The only units that you do not need to switch on and off
every time you play your music. With a low power standby mode, industrial grade electronics, high contrast meters and a pair of connectors for easy connection to your system the 994VU-VT is a high quality easy to use product that looks good and designed to provide years of service with no user interaction required.

Wide input scaling -20dB to +5dB (most competing models only scale to +3dB peak) 

The unit is presented in a compact, black textured ABS enclosure with dimensions of 16cmW x 16cmD (14cmD excluding connectors and controls) x 6.cmH. Rubber feet are fitted on the bottom of the enclosure. An IEC connector on the back panel accepts a mains input voltage of 85-240VAC. Two pairs of gold-plated RCA connectors are included for stereo audio input and output so that the unit can be easily connected between a playing device such as a DVD player, media streamer, set top box etc and amplifier. 

A front panel mounted premium quality combined rotary switch/potentiometer, fitted with an attractive black aluminium fluted knob, switches the unit on and off. Front panel control allows you to place the unit on any suitable shelf and still get to the main control even with restricted space above the enclosure. The potentiometer controls the VU meter back-light brightness and the lighting switches on automatically when a stereo (or mono on right Channel) input is detected. The lighting switches off in the absence of an audio input after approximately 15 minutes, this is low power standby mode. 

The meters are round dial and include back-lit internal near white LEDs giving the instruments a very modern appearance when lit. High contrast makings and black needles allows the movements to be seen working from across the average sized room without being large and obtrusive.

The 994VU-VT includes high quality component parts meeting applicable safety standards. The PSU powering the VU meter movements and circuits processing the incoming audio signals meets the Audio/Video information and communication technology equipment - Safety requirements (CB) standards IEC62368-1 2014, 2nd edition and EN623689-1 2014 +A11:2017.

We pre-set the unit to 0.7745V RMS at 0dB but could set it to consumer line level input (300mV RMS at 0dB), professional line level (1.228V RMS @ 0dB) or set for your speakers, whichever suits you.  
The 994VU-VT is very accurate and will display 0dB across the whole audio range of 15Hz to 22kHz at the pre-set set input voltage. The meter has a gradual roll off (see graph) at higher frequencies.  

An additional exclusive feature is the ability to connect the 994VU-VT directly to amplifier speaker output terminals after suitable calibration. This is done using two speaker attenuation potentiometers fitted to the 994 pcb housed inside the enclosure. Email your speaker RMS wattage rating and the nominal impedance and we will set the unit for you.

The internal power supplies have an EMC Class B rating and are EN62233 certified.

The 994VU-VT is supplied with an IEC mains lead and socket with a standard UK 3 pin mains plug for UK customers and a CEE7/7 Euro plug for customers in Europe.

Works with any amplifier/receiver or audio device with a common negative output configuration. Many amplifiers and receivers and many audio devices are configured this way, some amplifiers including Class D may not be suitable.
