Vintage, Original, 1800’s Stories For Merry Hearts, part of the ‘Merry Hearts’ Series by Nister & Co. No. 4205.

Very rare vintage book produced by Nister & Co. this was at the time of the move to U.K. and before they moved to selling in the USA, New York. This book was designed in England and but still produced in Germany.

This is before Nister started using E. Nister or Ernest Nister, London, and partnered up with E.P. Dutton & Co New York

The book has been a loved possession of a child ( Alice lock) and has a lot of black-and-white illustrations coloured in.

The first page (please see photos) is ripped and a bit without words is missing. Also a rip is going though five pages although it is all there. One page is missing from the book(15/16) which is at the end of ‘ Good Intention’ other then that is seem to be all there but could do with some loving restoration.

Some of the titles follow below:

The Heart of Gold by J. R. Marsden

In troubled times by G. A. Henty

The Brave Leader by Constance M. lowe

An Adventure in the fens by Sheila E Blair

The Woodbine and the Old Apple-tree by L.L. Weedon

Five Shillings worth by Eva Daner

there’s also an illustration by the famous W.H.C.Groome

lots more illustrations little poems and stories.

I have taken in to consideration the age and condition of this book. Please email if you have any questions, or A sensible offer, thank you.
