The poet Thomas Ashe founded The Eagle in the year in which he graduated from St John's., with the help of a college fellow, Joseph Bickersteth Mayor. Henry George Hart (1843?21) and Robert Forsyth Scott (1849?33) were later editors of the magazine.

Bound by Gray of Cambridge.


CONDITION

In half-calf bindings. Externally, sound, though rubbed, with a few marks. Internally, generally firmly bound. Hinges are a little strained. Pages are quite bright and clean.
