Our eco-friendly Gravel - easy to maintain, not dust, it is ideally suited as a decorative substrate in an aquarium and shrimp tank. Perfect for every biotope. What is a ceramic substrate? The gravel is fired in a burned at 1300 °C, along with a natural coloring clay. Thanks to such a process, ceramic gravel is 100% safe, does not affect water parameters and does not lose color as artificial gravels. The result is a beautiful, glossy and decorative gravel. The package may contain pieces of larger stones. Why you should beware of cheap artificial gravel? Artificial gravels are usually colored with paint, which usually contain chemical additives, such as carcinogenic lead. Over time, chemical compounds are released into the water. This is a threat to your pets, your children and you!

Natural aquarium substrates

Dolomite sand in granules 1-2mm. Raises the pH of water, gives the alkaline reaction, ideal for Malawi and Tanganyika biotopes.Some of the applied sands have very little effect on the chemical values of the water. Therefore, it is suggested to use such materials on the substrate of Tanganian tanks that would have a high magnesium content, which reacts with our water. Such rocks are the Dolomites. Metamorphic dolomites were formed by the metasomatic transformation of calcite deposits. In this process, the calcium carbonate contained therein was partially superseded by magnesium carbonate. The source of magnesium in these transformations was seawater.
Suggested amount of substrate to get 4-5 cm thick in an aquarium with a capacity of about 200l
