Tips & Instruction

Unscrew Locked Screws

Camera manufacturers, Nikon for example, tends to glue the screws during assembly. To reduce the chance of striping the screws, please read our step by step guide.

Step 1: Before unscrewing the screw, add a tiny drop of solvent on the screw to remove any glue and grease.
Step 2: Do not apply excessive force on the screw, especially on the tiny set screw, which not only might bend the screwdriver, but also potentially ruin the screw head.

*Re-do Step 1. If no luck, apply heat on the screw head might help. Do not apply heat or strong chemical when optical elements are presented.

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY EXCESSIVE FORCE ON SCREW HEAD. THIS CAN DAMAGE YOUR SCREWDRIVER AND THE SCREW HEAD.
