Knitting pattern/instructions to make classic ladies fair isle jumper.

Sizes: Instructions to make two sizes to fit 34" inch bust.  You could make it larger by using DK wool and larger need;es, but would need to do a tesion square before starting to ensure the finished jumper was the size you wanted.

Materials Required: 3 ply yarn.  You can substitute modern 4ply yarn which is similar in weight to the 3ply yarn of the 30s and 40s.  Please knit a tension square before starting to ensure the correct tension for finished size of jumper.

  • 7 ounces (approx 199 grams) in navy blue for long sleeves or 6 ounces (appox 170 grams) for the short sleeve jumper. 2 ounces (approx 57 grams) in white. 1 ounce (approx 28 grams) in turquoise.
  • Pair each No.11 (3.00 mm) and No. 9 (3.75 mm) straight knitting needles.
  • 2 buttns.
Tension: 17 sts  to 2 inches and 25 rows to 3 inches.

Please Note: This is a quality, cleaned and restored copy of the pattern for you to knit the item/s yourself. It is Not for the original pattern or the finished article/s.

The pattern is printed in A4 format on heavy weight paper with colour photos and charts where applicable.  It will be posted in a plastic sleeve and C4 envelope to protect it.

Due to the age of the pattern, the original yarn suggested may not be available.  It is recommended to knit a tension square with your chosen yarn, before starting, to ensure the finished garment or item is the size you require.

If you have any questions about the item please contact me. I've been selling on ebay since 2001 as redheadviking with positive feedback for patterns and service.  Please see feedback on that account whilst I build this new ebay shop.

I am listing other original and reformatted (out of copyright or copyright free) Knitting and Crochet patterns for sale and will combine postage on multiple patterns if you contact me before paying, to allow me to send a combined postage invoice for you as it will not be automatically calculated at checkout.

If you are bidding on more than one item, please wait for the invoice with combined packing & postage before paying.

The pattern will be sent via royal mail 2nd class to keep costs down, and I get proof of postage.  Other than weekends I can usually post your pattern within 24 hours.  Whilst I make every effort to ensure the patterns are protected well for transit, should there be any issues with the pattern, please contact me to allow me to resolve them before leaving feedback.

Please note postage and packaging costs quoted are for mainland UK via myHermes or Royal Mail. Certain areas of Scotland and Ireland may unfortunately incur additional postage charges.  I am happy to search for the cheapest postage cost for delivery to non-standard service areas, please ask before bidding.
