Metal replacement gear for Nikon Labophot 1 or Optiphot 1 fine focus shaft. These shafts have 3mm diameter, the gear has 18 teeth and an outer diameter of 6mm. Some of the older Nikon focus blocks also use the same fine focus shaft.

See a split original Nikon plastic gear and the repair solution on the photo. For repair remove the plastic gear, clean the shaft (alcohol pads included) and glue the metal replacement gear on the shaft. I will add a sufficient amount of Loctite 638 adhesive in a small vial and a toothpick to dip in the adhesive. This adhesive can be easily applied, any adhesive surplus can be wiped off after hardening because this adhesive only hardens in the metal/metal contact between the gear and the shaft. In 2019 there is a new wider gear see the last pic. The teeth are 5mm wide so the axial position has more tolerance while gluing.

• two alcohol pads for degreasing and cleaning after gluing, two additional lint free wipes
• a small cable tie in order to create a temporary adjustable stopper on the fine focus shaft  in order to glue the gear in the correct axial position
• some plastic washers to avoid grinding metal/metal
