This is an awesome, strong all-round pattern thats suitable for most styles of angling, right from waggler fishing, through to heavy pole work and specialist feeder fishing. Its a more conventional pattern than the QM1 and features a super-wide gape that helps you to connect with as many bites as possible. The beaked shape will help convert solid hook holds into fish in the net. A large eye allows you to thread heavier hook link lines through three times when tying the knotless knot for the most cutting-edge hair-rig presentations. As with the QM1, the MWG is available in sizes 10,12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 and are supplied in packs of 10. We now make a barbed version, the MWGB, which is exactly the same but with a barb. It makes a great carp, river and specialist hook!
Just one look at this radical hook pattern will tell you that its designed to stand out from the crowd. The unique, heavily swept shape and short shank have been precisely engineered to make sure that you land more fish. This is carried through into a sharp, beaked point thatll provide super-secure hook holds. Each QM1 is PTFE coated to prolong its slick, sharpness. So, why the unique shape? Guru teamed up with mercurial commercial matchman Steve Ringer to design the perfect hook for hair rigging baits on bolt presentations. Their designs may look different to patterns that youre familiar with, but the proof is in the hooking and you WILL lose fewer fish using the QM1s. The specimen market has quickly cottoned on to the effectiveness of the QM1 and some of the very best (and we mean VERY best) specimen hunters use the larger sizes while hair rigging for barbel and chub on rivers or tench and bream on stillwaters. The QM1 is available in sizes 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 and the hooks come supplied in a protective box.
The X-Strong Spade pattern has been designed for hit-and-hold margin fishing on the pole. The extra wide gape and long, durable point result in great hook holds, allowing you to bully large carp, tench or barbel from snags or reeds. The design of the hook makes it perfect for use with large baits like meat. The spade makes it perfect for use with most conventional pole rigs and ensures that the line exits the hook shank perfectly in line for excellent hooking potential. The Pellet Wagger hook has been designed with float hair rigging in mind. As the name suggests, its particularly suited to use with the pellet waggler, which is so effective on commercial carp waters. The hooks feature an out-turned eye, which ensures that the line exits the eye in a straight line, making for better presentation and greater hooking potential. An extra-long, durable point and wide gape practically guarantees extremely secure hook holds, which will result in more fish in the net. There are six sizes in the range, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20, which will cover you for most commercial carp fishing as well as waggler fishing on a range of venues.
These hooks have been tested for some time (indeed, you may have seen them on the Guru website in features!) and launched in 2013 in both eyed and spade-end versions. Theyre made from a lovely, light wire that will handle everything up to, and including, match-sized carp. The end result is the LWGF hook the Light Wide Gape Feeder. Developed for tackling big lakes, reservoirs, rivers and canals in the UK and Europe, its the perfect pattern for bream, skimmers, hybrids, chub, perch, tench, smaller carp and similar species. Its also a versatile performer and can be used on a feeder or bomb rig, or on the pole. Available in sizes 10-20 in barbed format only.
The new F1 Maggot hook is now in tackle shops and is the perfect shape for fishing smaller baits. It has been designed with maggots in mind, as well as being great for other similar baits such as casters and pinkies, as it has a fine wire that won’t damage these baits.
It has a super fine, straight point and the shape, with a special gape and angled point, which means that these baits sit perfectly on the bend and it reduces the chance of hooking being impeded. Because of the slightly ‘open’ angle of the point, you’ll hit more bites on these hooks!
The F1 Maggot is PTFE coated which results in a smoother surface, aiding penetration and preventing rusting during rig storage between sessions, as well as reducing ‘glare’ as the finish is duller.
They feature a neat spade end and are barbless, with a range of sizes from 14 to 22 to cover everything from fishing on commercials for silver fish or F1s, right down to snatching bits on canals in the winter, and are suitable for use with the pole, waggler or feeder.
The F1 Pellet hook has been designed for targeting the F1 carp, a fish found in many commercial fisheries. They’re strong, yet relatively fine in the wire, which makes them able to land even quite large carp on the pole. They feature a beaked point for extra-secure hook holds and an oversized spade, which allows them to be used with thicker line, for robust bagging situations.
They have been finished with a special anti-glare PTFE finish that does not impede the sharpness of the hook. The F1 Pellet family includes sizes 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22.
These are designed to be super strong while having a relatively thin diameter wire. The oversized spade makes tying the Kaizen very easy, and means you can use strong line without worry of knots slipping over the spade. Our PTFE coating helps the hooks remain super sharp and durable, and gives it a discrete finish. An extra-wide gape ensures a firm hook hold and allows you to cleanly present a variety of baits on the hook while leaving plenty of point showing for clean and effective hooking capability on the strike.
