A lovely antique large and substantial 19th century Indian wooden bowl, made from one piece of timber.

I would date this this piece to the mid-to-late Victorian era, but it could well be earlier.

It measures approx. 68 x 38 x 10cm.

I've taken as many pictures as possible so you can see what a great primitive decorative piece this is - the depth of colour and the shape make a real decorative statement.  A fabulous patina and colour.

It's certainly seen some wear over its long life as a working antique, but this adds to its charm. 

A really beautiful piece of tribal ware.  These old bowls are becoming scarcer and more sought-after every year...
