A rare large silver plated WFM Art Nouveau vase with repoussé chrysanthemum design from between 1903-1914. The mark on the base was applied on WMF goods that were exported to France. After 1914 the export to France was stopped due to the war and after that this mark was applied to the goods made from non-ferrous metals and their alloys, like copper, brass and nickel. The silver-plated products with this particular mark are very rare.

It has an almost torpedo like form with a band of relief flower motifs in a beaded border. Some of the plate has rubbed off the flowers where the brass/copper is coming through.

The vase measures 28.2 cm in height and 35 cm in circumference at the widest point. The opening of the vase has a diameter of 6.5 cm.

WMF stands for Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik and they were very skilled metal workers that are still going today.

A great collectors piece.
