Paul Brenner, un des meilleurs enquêteurs de la CID (Division des enquêtes criminelles de l’armée américaine) est appelé au fort Mac-Callum pour mettre fin a un trafic d'armes. Il fait la connaissance du capitaine Elisabeth Campbell, séduisante instructrice des operations psychologiques avec laquelle il engage un flirt sans consequence. Quelques heures plus tard, il apprend que la jeune femme a été violée et assassinée dans l'enceinte du fort. Il découvre par la meme occasion qu'Elisabeth était la fille du general Campbell, futur vice-president du pays.

Paul Brenner, one of the top investigators at the US Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID), is called to Fort Mac-Callum to put an end to the arms trade. He meets Captain Elisabeth Campbell, an attractive instructor of psychological operations with whom he engages in a flirtation without consequence. A few hours later, he learns that the young woman was raped and murdered within the walls of the fort. He discovers at the same time that Elisabeth was the daughter of General Campbell, future vice-president of the country.
