1915 Charlie Chaplin Colonial Theater Silent Movie Broadside Framed Advertising
~ Free Shipping ~

Up for sale today is this Original 1915 Charlie Chaplin Colonial Theater Silent Movie Broadside Framed Advertising. This is a great piece of movie memorabilia. The Colonial Theater was playing the movie Tillie's Punctured Romance which premiered on December 21, 1914 at the Los Angeles Republic Theater along with some other silent films. The film was a tremendous success. The picture was the first feature-length motion picture produced by the Keystone Film Company, and is the only one featuring Chaplin. This is a wonderful piece of film history starring the master Charlie Chaplin, Marie Dressler, Mabel Normand and the infamous Keystone Kops. The film is based on Dressler's stage play Tillie's Nightmare by A. Baldwin Sloane and Edgar Smith. Tillie's Punctured Romance is notable for being the last Chaplin film which he neither wrote nor directed, as well as the first feature-length comedy in all of cinema. In it, Chaplin plays an entirely different role from his Tramp character, which was relatively new at the time.

Broadside measures 14" x 23" not including the frame. With frame the 21" x 29". The broadside has acid free black matte with a red matte accent. Broadside is in very good condition some water staining at the bottom as well as a tear under the word "banner". Looks great and is ready to hand on your wall right out of the box. Don't miss out, these are getting rare and hard to find in any condition.
