This gorgeous textile has been in my private collection for many years!~This wonderful textile is an 18th century bed canopy , the front fabric being an 18th century hand block printed siamoise ( linen cotton blend). The Pictoage ground is stunning! The movement in the design has such a lovely flow. There is also hand penciled blue on this piece. This piece dates from the last quarter of the 18th century. It's backed in a homespun linen. This textile was once hung as a bed canopy or bed quilt. It's hand stitched and hand quilted. There is no batting between the layers ~ ~ I've never seen this pattern in such a LARGE and intact state ~ ideal for any collection or museum ~ ( 87)

Measurements : This fabulous piece measures : 52 inches by 72 inches ~ 

Condition: This fabulous 18th century textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. The backing is in poor condition, however the front siamoise is in wonderful condition! ~ There are some marks, some small holes, the patch at the top, some rust marks , but generally it's in fabulous condition for its age!~
