A beautiful Acrylic painting of a Three Mast sailing ship painted by MR. RAY STOAKLEY in the year 1984. Please note the detail in the painting of the square sails and rigging.
Mr. Stoakley was a uncle to a good friend of my family and painted various nautical paintings.
The artist has not shown us the ships country flag, but maybe the White Cliffs of Dover on the Horizon will give us a clue that the ship should be flying the Union Jack.
This ship may be classed as a BARQUE. This is a vessel with three or more masts with square sails on the fore mast and fore and aft sails on the after mast. This vessel would range between 250 to 700 ton capacity.
This painting is ready to hang and may be a little dusty.
