Please note: This is a quality, cleaned and restored copy of the pattern for you to knit the item/s yourself. It is Not for the original pattern or the finished article/s.

Knitting pattern instructions to make a pretty fair isle beret/hat and matching gloves, with puppy dog motif.

The pattern is written out in full, not charted.

  • Size: Beret will fit a head measurement of 18 inches, With instructions to make it larger or smaller.  Gloves are approx 6 inches around the top of the hand.
  • Materials required: The original pattern uses 3ply yarn.  Modern 4ply yarn is similar in weight to 3ply from the 40s and 50s, so can be substituted, just knit a tension square and use larger or smaller needles, before starting to ensure the final garments are the size you want.
    • 2 ounces (approx 57 grams) in a light shade.  1/2 ounce (approx 14 grams) in a lighter shade ( the original pattern sugests light & dark green),  small amount (1/4 ounce or approx 7 grams) of white yarn.
    • Pair each No. 8 (4.00 mm) and No. 11 (3.00 mm) knitting needles.

Due to the age of the pattern, the original yarn suggested may not be available.  It is recommended to crochet/knit a tension square with your chosen yarn, before starting, to ensure the finished garment or item is the size you require.

From August 2020 eBay are charging sellers for handling payments per individual transaction.  As such I will continue to combine postage for multiple patterns 'paid for separately', however, unfortunately I cannot refund the new eBay payment handling charges.  Please purchase multiple patterns together in one transaction for automatic postage discounts.
