Sarah a accepté la demande en mariage de son compagnon, mais est terrifiée à l'idée de passer à l'acte. Pour comble de malheur, sa soeur Annie s'apprête à convoler avec un tennisman, obligeant du même coup Sarah à passer un week-end dans ce faubourg ultra-chic de Pasadena qu'elle déteste... et à affronter une famille dont elle se considère comme le mouton noir.
Seule consolation : revoir son alerte grand-mère Katharine, dont les rosseries, l'humour gaulois et les "conseils" tordus l'enchantent. Et cette année, Mamie a quelque chose à lui apprendre. La rumeur court en effet que Katharine et la défunte mère de Sarah auraient été les modèles de Mrs. Robinson et sa fille et rivale Elaine dans le roman et le film Le Lauréat. SYNOPSIS AND DETAILS
Sarah has accepted her partner's marriage proposal, but is terrified of doing it. To make matters worse, her sister Annie is preparing to marry a tennis player, forcing Sarah to spend a weekend in this ultra-chic suburb of Pasadena that she hates ... and to face a family she considers himself the black sheep.
The only consolation: to see his alert grandmother Katharine again, whose bickering, Gallic humor and twisted "advice" delight him. And this year, Grandma has something to teach her. Rumor has it that Katharine and Sarah's late mother would have been Mrs. Robinson and his daughter and rival Elaine in the novel and film The Laureate. Suddenly, Sarah begins to wonder about her own identity ...
