Michael's was established in 1948 in the historic Homer, Louisiana town square. The original store provided men?s clothing, fine suits, professional golf equipment and apparel.

In 1979 the store was expanded with the addition of complete lines of hunting and fishing products, including an in-house service for guns and archery equipment.
