These Spectronics Low-Cost Optical Switches were manufactured in 1978 , a time when many electronic manufacturers were "Gold Plating" Contact Pins for the highest electrical conductivity possible. Today, that level of quality by using gold contacts on many electronic parts has largely been abandoned and are becoming increasingly harder to find.

The Spectronics SPX-1873 is a quality Optical Switch and is a Direct Replacement for such popular devices as H13A1, H13A2, H13B1, H13B2, MCA8, MCA81, MCT8, MCT81 and MOC70T1
