For sale is a vintage 1895 stated First edition (First thousand) copy of Minerals, and How to Study Them.  Written by Edward Salisbury Dana, this book is a classic, and was published by John Wiley & Sons, New York.  The book is 7.5" x 5.25" with 380 pages, including the index.  The book is illustrated throughout.  It is hardcover, but has no dust jacket.  The book is in very good condition, considering its age.  It is a library discard, but was clearly deaccessioned decades ago.  It has the standard library markings of a spine label and stamps, but there is no circulation pocket or bar code and the spine label is hand printed with a fountain pen.  Other marks in the book include an address label of a previous owner, who passed it on to the Friends to raise funds.  The book has no other marks or writing.  The binding is tight and square.  A good sniff in the book reveals that it has never been stored in a basement or near musty books.  This book is a gem in itself!

Please feel free to ask any additional questions.  Please look at my other auctions of books and music.  All proceeds from this auction benefit the Northborough (MA) Town Library.  These items were donated to the library and I volunteer all of my time to place them up on eBay.  Local residents may avoid S&H fees by paying for and picking up books at the library.  E-mail me for details.  Thank you for supporting a community library.
