ALOE FEROX -RED ALOE - BITTER ALOE
Stunning large aloe vera widely distributed in a wide variety of habitats in South Africa and Lesotho.
It produces a solid, solitary trunk that can reach over 3 m in height. Leaves are large, juicy, bluish to gray-green
forming an unbranched rosette.
Old leaves remain on the trunk, creating a dense cover below the crown.The wonderful, large, branched inflorescence with short pedicels has many red flowers and is therefore also called red
aloe.
It is a popular and easy-to-grow species in dry, warm and tropical gardens in USDA Zones 9-11.
It can withstand drought and light frosts.
