HOW TO APPLY THESE WATERSLIDE DECALS:

* Cut out the image(s). It's the best to use a sharp knife and a cutting mat otherwise a sharppair of scissors.

* Release the decal by placing it in a bowl of water for 20-30 seconds. If you are not about to use the decal rightaway you can also dip it and place it on a dish in a drop of water. Optionally adding a bit of Microset will help adherance and improves the release of the decal.

* Meanwhile make sure the surface is free of dust. Optionally clean it with a degreaser like ammonia, rubbing alcohol or a universal degreaser.

* Apply the decal to the surface by sliding it from the backing paper directly onto the surface. Position the decal to your liking.

* Remove any trapped Air by pushing these aside with your finger. Also remove excess water by carefully rubbing it with a damp tissue. If you have a squeegee it is the best to use for this stage.

There are 2 options for finishing.

1 the regular "cold" method.

2 the bake-on method which is for glass, ceramic and metal.

1 the regular "cold" method.

* Leave to dry for at least 12 hours. The temperature/setting is depending on what the surface can handle. If you do not use Heat you can at this point apply Microsol to make it settle onto the surface better.

* When the decal is completely dried it is the best to clear coat it and the object with a acrylic varnish/lacquer. By doing so IT will enclose the decal and make it with the surface, so it can not come lose anymore.

2 the bake-on method which is for glass, ceramic and metal.

* On glass, ceramic or metal the decal van be baked-on. This can be done with a hot airgun but it is better to use An oven. Depending on the oven, the object and the size of the decal the settings need some experimenting. As a guide use 180 degrees Celsius to a max, of 230 degrees Celsius for 10 to 30 minutes. In general using 200 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes is a good starting point.
