GIANT MICROBES PETRI DISH
FLESH-EATING DISEASE
(Streptococcus pyogenes)

11/22/21 UPDATE: The folks at GIANT MICROBES recently cleaned out one of their closets and discovered all sorts of loose and unidentified diseases, along with a few old friends, such as a FLESH-EATING DISEASE PETRI DISH, which had been part of a trade show display, but was partially opened by a nosey customer who got caught!  It is still about half factory sealed and the microbes inside are fine and undamaged.  This will either be the last one or second-to-last-one that we send out, depending on how some of our more bizarre friends react to the OTHER weird one from below, so if/when only 1 or 2 is still available, this WILL be one of them, so stay tuned for updates as we get to the end of these!

Years ago, Giant Microbes produced a line of Mini-microbes, packing 3 of the same microbe together in a clever "Petri Dish" packaging display.  Obviously, Science Teachers LOVED them, while everyone else...not so much.  Since our main customer base has always been Science Teachers, we sold a ton of these.  However, most folks seemed more interested in the larger "regular sized" selections.  The most common criticism/complaint from most "normal people" (As you suspected, Science Teachers do NOT fit into this category...and helps to explain why we LOVE THEM!) was that they didn't want 3 of the same microbe, instead wanting an assortment.  As a result, this line was retired.  HOWEVER, this led to the EXTREMELY popular series of "Theme Boxes" which continue to be best sellers to this day.  We have dug out what is left of our inventory from the "Petri Days" to offer all that we have left.  If you would like to see more detailed photos (along with some general fun and silliness) from our regular size listing, please click HERE.  I am NOT going to open these to provide photos of each individual microbe.  SORRY!

Ummm...OK, then!  Ever wish you had a chance to grab one of those misprinted, upside-down postage stamps?  WELL, HERE IS YOUR CHANCE...sort of!  In creating this listing, I just noticed that the descriptive insert for one these is ACTUALLY the one for the Flu!  Oops.  I mean, WOW!  What an incredibly rare chance to grab a production mistake, potentially (make sure you know what that word means before purchasing this as an investment!) worth MILLIONS...if you can find someone dumb enough to pay millions for it.  We just found it to be a funny mistake, so this is YOUR chance to cash in.  GOOD LUCK!  (If you find it funny and want this one, just let us know.  Otherwise it WILL be the last one that we send out!)
