A great little book from the founder of Pike and Predators magazine, James Holgate. The author spent much of his own fishing time on the large waters of the English Lake District and so is well-qualified to advise on the best approach to these big waters that may be a little intimidating to the newcomer.

First published in 1989 and illustrated only in black and white, this new 2015 edition is illustrated with full-colour photographs and illustrations. A great book packed full of good, solid pike fishing advice based on sound experience. Recommended.

"Big waters offer the greatest challenge to pikers, but they can also be extremely daunting - especially to those in the early stages of their pike fishing career. The rewards can be staggering for those who manage to master the vast acres and understand the habits of their predators and prey. James Holgate lived in Lancaster and spent much of his pike fishing on the large expanses of Lakeland and the North West. His journalistic background as the editor of the monthly magazine, Pike & Predators, has allowed him to produce an easily understood but in-depth examination of the facts and fallacies that surround this type of venue. Moreover, he has explained, often with the aid of diagrams, his successful methods gained from many years of Big Water Pike Fishing." (Publisher's blurb).
