The 1 Rand silver began a Protea series in 1990. This particular Protea issue celebrates the 100 years of the Railway line.
This coin, the RAILWAY CENTENNIAL coin, is very difficult to get in higher grades. It took me many expensive purchases/submissions to achieve this MS67 grade. When you have coins conserved and graded at NCS/NGC the fee is $30 per coin, and then there is a shipping cost to and from the grading company. I've since improved my collection and I am simply selling this one at a break-even cost.
I participate in the NGC competitive registry sets and currently hold position #6 (which will be changing soon) in the Uncirculated Silver R1 category. In the process of improving my collection I sell my duplicate coins here. In most instances I sell the coins for what I have in them and you'll be hard pressed to find a better price on them.
